I got V.
It seems that the authors, no matter if screenwriters or book authors are not so fond of naming their characters with anything close to V. But after some thinking I did find the required five.
1. Veronica Mars – main character of TV series “Veronica Mars” , daughter of current private detective and former Sheriff, with whom she has a great relationship. She kicks ass, solves crimes even before her father does and seems way too good for a normal 17-teen year old, although she got her part of hardships and issues . I did enjoy watching her adventures, but with the reserve and spark of amusement.
2. Mark Vorkosigan – Clone brother of Miles Vorkosigan from Vorkosigan saga by Louis McMaster Bujold. As I loved Miles, when Mark showed up it hit me hard. His four sub-personalities, that he names “The Black Gang” help him to survive a very gruesome mental, physical and sexual torture. I actually started to like him much more than Miles, after he created “Lord Mark” personality – a very soft and woundable one, that is being kept safe thanks to Black Gang.
3. Vala Mal Doran – spitfire, sexy, intelligent con woman! (yes, I did have a soft spot for smart con people before Neal Caffrey) from Stargate SG-1 series. I love the playful chemistry she has with Dr. Daniel Jackson, and on the other hand the yearning for the true family that she shows makes her so much better and real character.
4. Voldermort – the absolute bad man of the Harry Potter books, sneaky (not only for his snake pet), powerful and bad, bad, very bad. He will not back away from killing anyone that stands in his way to ultimate power.
5. Baron Vladimir Harkonnen – secondary antagonist of the Dune by Frank Herbert books. Intelligent, cunning, but also ruthless and cruel. I don’t remember him much from the books, but mostly from the first Dune movie from 1984, where he was played absolutely incredibly by Kennetch McMillian.
