Interesting choice. I was inspired by Neal's stint in prison in season 1 - complaining about orange as well as Peter always telling him he can always send him to prison. I wanted to try something from Neal's perspective and had this crazy idea that Neal an artist could have a problem with having his dreams colourless.

I write from beginning to the end, can't remember if I put any scene first - although it's quite possible this was one of first elements "Life in white collar division wasn't bad; the dreams were back to their usual grays. But each of Peter's casual mentions of putting him back in prison created a ripple effect, orange spilling over his dreams."
