Help! I need somebody to kick my ass... the Case Story Big Bang [livejournal.com profile] casestory in 6 weeks I should have a rough draft, and I have nothing, nilch, zip, nada, nothing at all, not even a good idea... I got one but then I couldn't decide on the details and discarded it completely. Overall my writing muse is gone, my head hurts and it's only 6 weeks left...

Hope in NaNo - I signed up for Camp NaNoWrimo for April... so let's see if I can do it, first just start sitting and writing every, freaking day, I should be able to get to 10K writing only 400 words per day, that's not really complicated, unless you have no idea what are you writing.

Okay then - how about a case study of a manuscript that has been stolen. The stolen manuscript may or may not contain information that could link Neal and Mozzie to a heist in New York one year ago.

Did they do the heist under Peter's nose?

What does the manuscript really say?

It will be a race between Neal/Mozzie and Peter and team to find the manuscript.

In the end the person who has the manuscript is actually the author of the manuscript and has it out for Neal....cue whump and kidnapping or some such. Could bounce ideas around if you want. Feel free to take this one!

Whee please do bounce ideas around me, my plot bunnies are weird creatures that catch only on one or two ideas from millions!

I like the manuscript idea, and that it could link Neal and Mozzie to a heist from years before. That I could take for sure. I'm not exited lately about writing Neal against Peter fics, and I tend to write bad hurt fics.

Okay so the idea I had previously could work with this one, if you guys bounce things on me it might take some better shape.

During a case some other department (organized crime, or homicide) finds stack of old letters and pack it as evidence (could be reason for the murder). Someone from White Collar stumbles on them, and makes a big halo as some of them are never before seen Chopins letters (to family, friends etc.).
Now mix with your idea Neal was involved in faking some letters before, and of course he never admits to anything so it takes a moment for Peter to sort "Neal" out.

and here my plot bunny looks at me with big eyes saying I have no idea what you want...

I was thinking before about a hidden code that will bring them to discover something, but now it sounds too much like "music box - u-boat" plot...

I think, since Neal wouldn't want to betray Peter, it makes more sense that Mozzie is the one who steals something/forges something, unless it's before Neal's jail time.
Cue Neal being protective of Mozzie and maybe not doing his 100% while seeming to (like the case with Abigail and the Pascal [S04E05])
Maybe not a hidden code per se, but irregularities such as an address with a street that didn't exist yet or a reference to a monument or a piece of art that, again, didn't exist yet, things that quick thinkers like the White Collar core team would notice. I know this implies sloppiness on Mozzie's part, but everyone makes mistakes, right? And yes, I 'borrowed' this from Blink.
Question - if, on his world map, peter drew a line between New York and Paris, would a detour (when tracing the line with a finger) to Reykjavik, Iceland be significant?

Hmmm it's an idea worth exploring, I need to think about it, especially as even Mozzie would't make such mistakes unless it was a means to something... A plot bunny raises its head...

As for map and Rejkiavik if the line would be a stright one the yes avsolutely detours to Rejkivik must have been significant. But if you want ti hide that the kine should be like part if elipse going vua ir close to Rejkiawik as thats the way the planes are usually going between Europe and NY.
